traveling w| a 7mo. old

We didn't go on a babymoon so when Joel told me we were going to Mexico 7 months after Finley was born, I was so happy. And Scared. And Excited. And Anxious. And READY for the sun!!! The best part...the WHOLE Livingood crew is tagging along so we'll have all the help/babysitters! :)

I have no experience traveling with a baby but I do know that I'll need to check about 3 bags just for Fin. Ok, maybe not 3 but you should see the list of things you think to pack for a trip outside the US. I made sure to read up on all the cool mom blogs, consult my pediatrician for safety, consult my doctor for Joel and I's health and research the baby safe products to bring along for sweet baby Fin. 

Best baby travel accessories

1. Travel stroller + Stroller Check Bag - I was on the fence as to whether I wanted to bring a stroller and decided that carrying her EVERYWHERE was not something I wanted to do. Especially down and up to the beach + pool every two hours for naps. 

2. UV Mesh Play Mat + Inflatable pool floatie - This mesh play mat is a must for traveling to the beach. I was able to borrow it from a friend but they are cheap on amazon. This will help baby Fin stay safe in the best way possible. It is also UV protected for those strong sun rays! A floatie because Fin loves the water and I am super excited to explore the pool in this! Again, UV protected! 

3. Sakura carrier - Airport walks, beach walks, takes up no space (all canvas material), and I had extra room in my carry one! 

4. TRAVEL BREAST PUMP - You guys, I am SO EXCITED I found this. I am still pumping at night and I DID NOT want to bring my huge pump/tote. It works so good for me. This is definitely worth a try and....FREE RETURNS for prime members. It’s not as good as my Medela pump but it does the deed for a pump I got online for $50!

Best baby skin care

1. Young Living bug repellent + sunscreen - Possibly the best bug repellent for mom, dad and baby! So clean, smells amazing, and is plant based with and sesame oil + Vitamin E oil.

2. Bath soap + Oil + Balms - We use Dr. Bronners baby soap for her baths so i'll pack a little container for Fin. Being out in the sun, sitting in the sand, and exploring the resort I need to make sure that Fin keeps that baby soft skin. I use the Earth Mama brand daily and love them.

Healthy Baby 

1. Rectal thermometer + Nose Freida + Baby IB Prophen- Lets hope she doesn't get sick but just in case! She doesn't have teeth yet buy my luck, she'll pop three teeth on the trip. 

2. I'm packing my baby nail scissors -- her nails grow so fast

3. UV Swimsuit + Sun Hat -- CUTE AF and DEFINITELY NEEDED!

Oh and update; I packed MY stuff + Fin's things  (except the stroller) in ONE checked bag! WIN

My carry on will include things like one outfit for Joel, Fin and me just in case our luggage gets lost, some diapers, a bottle with 4-6 oz milk in case she wont nurse from me on the plane, a LOT of toys to keep her occupied each day, my travel pump (fits in a makeup bag!), snacks for me, my hydroflask water bottle, passports and chargers!
