CLEAN TURKEY BURGERS

reminiscing about these turkey burgers i made last month for dinner. they were MOUTH watering. i didn't measure any spices, i just dove into the spice cabinet and went wild. i kicked it up a notch and added flax seeds and vital protein collagen. both these two ingredients aid in digestion, promote a healthy gut and are healthy alternatives for breadcrumbs!

ingredients:

  • 1.5 lb of ground turkey

  • 1 green bell pepper - diced

  • 1 farm fresh egg

  • 2 scoops vital proteins collagen peptides

  • flax seed

  • avocado

  • ginger (shaved)

  • coconut oil

spices:

  • garlic powder

  • turmeric

  • onion powder (can you diced onions)

  • red pepper flakes

  • cayenne pepper

instructions:

  1. mix ground turkey, bell pepper, egg, collagen and spices in a large bowl

  2. slowly add flax seed until your get a petty-like consistency

  3. scoop a handful of the mixture into your hand to form patties - mine made 6 patties

  4. tip** push the center of the patty down a little more, this helps even the cooking throughout the burger

  5. heat a cast iron skillet with coconut oil to medium heat

  6. place each patty on the skillet for 3 minutes a side

  7. slice your ginger an avocado while the burgers cook

  8. enjoy on a bead of greens or your favorite whole wheat bun!
