pasta...its so good, but can get unhealthy quick. here, i show you the healthier version of pasta using vegetables! i heard a quote on MasterChef Junior that went something like, "what grows together, goes together." how clever! zucchini's are a great alternative for making pasta and since they dont have much taste, you can really go wild with spices.

go get yourself a spiralizer at target or your favorite kitchen store and test this recipe out. i promise you, you won't be going back to starch pasta after indulging in 3 servings of this dish. you can make this dish paleo, vegan and vegetarian as well (just omit the cheese and preferred meat).

SPIRALIZED ZUCCHINI A LA BASIL & GRAPE TOMATOES

ingredients

  • 1lb cooked ground beef (seasoned with your favourite spices)

  • large bowl

  • spiralizer

  • paper towels

  • 1 fresh piece of garlic

  • 4-6 zucchini's

  • 3 tomatoes - cut up

  • 6oz can organic tomato sauce

  • red pepper flakes

  • 1 T onion flakes or 1/4 c. chopped onion

instructions

  1. cook the LEAN ground beef and set it aside to drain

  2. wash and cut off the ends of your zucchini, sprialize and place on a laid out paper towel.

  3. wrap them up in the paper towel to get the excess water out. (If you don't do this, you'll "pasta" will get watery).

  4. place the zoodles in a large fry pan and heat up.

  5. add (meat or meatless) pasta sauce and simmer for 2 minutes.

  6. garnish with cheese or DAIYA faux cheese
